Education in South East Asia

Southeast Asia is a region that encompasses countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia. The population in this region is around 600 million. The population fluctuates from countries with the least population to the country with the fourth highest population. The cultures, religion and level of social economic development in this region are highly varied. Most of the countries here still hold the “under developing countries” tag.

Even after all these differences, the region is known for its development of human resource. The entire world is working as one big company with incredible entanglement of knowledge. It is developing on par with the rest of the world and changes in the way knowledge is grown is becoming increasingly advanced. All the countries have the basic right to education passed for the entire population and it is considered to be the basic right to development. Philippines has passed the law that all citizens hold a right to education. The government is rapidly developing modern education system to create a country that is capable of stepping ahead with the rest of the countries. Malaysia too is taking vital steps to improve its nation’s economy to incredibly high levels. It has achieved the status of a developed nation by creating a society that is democratic, united and liberal. Brunei too has been incredibly successful in raising the level of education of its citizens to high levels. It has made 12 years of education free to every child which includes 2 years of college. This has helped raise the level of literacy above 90%. Indonesia is taking innovative steps to improve education in the country by eradicating the various needs of the incredibly diverse people. Cambodia is in the process of refining its education policies to deter cope with the world and so is Vietnam.
